Virtual Programs

Our virtual programs have evolved as a new way to connect our passionate instructors with their students, allowing us to continue to provide innovative, quality STEM programming to families across the country and even the globe. We offer two types of virtual programs:

  • Play-Well at Home: Participants will learn new building techniques and explore engineering principles with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor and simple pieces from their own LEGO® collection.
  • Play-Well Online with LEGO® Materials: Specific LEGO® materials are required for these programs and are included in the registration fee. These materials are shipped directly to participants (or otherwise made available through our partners). Alternatively, participants can provide the necessary materials from their own LEGO® collection (View the part requirements here).

All of Play-Well’s virtual programs are “live,” and will typically be held over the Zoom platform. Most of these offerings meet for 45-minutes per day where participants will alternate between listening to the instructor discuss the day’s topic and any concepts, building, and taking the opportunity to share or ask questions if they would like to do so.

A handful of our other virtual programs meet for a longer timeframe (typically 3-hours). These programs alternate between Zoom time, independent building time, and a Zoom “wrap-up” discussion, with optional pre-recorded videos that participants can view as well.

Play-Well at Home: STEM FUNdamentals using LEGO®

Intro to Stem

Play-Well classes are going virtual! Tap into your imagination from the comfort of your own home with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor and simple pieces from your own LEGO® collection - all while connecting virtually with your friends and classmates! Students will explore their creative boundaries, learn new building techniques, and connect their projects to practical real-world STEM concepts, all with a focus on open-ended builds that do not require special LEGO® pieces.

Play-Well Online with LEGO® Materials: STEM FUNdamentals

Intro to Stem

Take your creativity to the next level as Play-Well classes go virtual! Build engineer-designed projects and learn new building techniques over Zoom with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Encounter practical real-world STEM concepts while learning from and connecting virtually with other young engineers. With the specialized kit of LEGO® materials that is included in the cost of the program, kids will have everything they need to take their LEGO® building at home to the next level!

Play-Well at Home: Jedi Adventures using LEGO®

Intro to Stem

Play-Well programs are going virtual! Begin your Jedi training from the comfort of your own home with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor and simple pieces from your own LEGO® collection - all while connecting virtually with other young Jedi engineers! Explore engineering principles and learn new building techniques while constructing your favorite Star Wars ships, creatures, characters and more. Create projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire, with a focus on open-ended builds that do not require special LEGO® pieces.

Play-Well Online with LEGO® Materials: Jedi Engineering

Intro to Stem

Complete the next phase of your Jedi training as Play-Well classes go virtual! Learn new building techniques and build engineer-designed projects inspired by the Star Wars universe with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Encounter practical real-world STEM concepts while learning from and connecting virtually with other young Jedi engineers. The program will take place over Zoom, and with the specialized kit of LEGO® materials that is included in the cost of the program, kids will have everything they need to take their LEGO® building at home to the next level and defeat the Empire once and for all!

Play-Well at Home: Minecraft Adventures using LEGO®

Intro to Stem

Play-Well programs are going virtual! Bring Minecraft to life from the comfort of your own home with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor and simple pieces from your own LEGO® collection - all while connecting virtually with other young Minecraft enthusiasts! Learn new building techniques and explore engineering principles while crafting your favorite Minecraft Biomes, Mobs, and more, all with a focus on open-ended builds that do not require special LEGO® pieces.

Play-Well Online with LEGO® Materials: Minecraft Engineering

Intro to Stem

Bring the world of Minecraft to life as Play-Well classes go virtual! Build engineer-designed projects and learn new building techniques over Zoom with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Encounter practical real-world STEM concepts while learning from and connecting virtually with other young Minecraft enthusiasts, and be sure to watch out for Creepers! With the specialized kit of LEGO® materials that is included in the cost of the program, kids will have everything they need to take their LEGO® building at home to the next level.
