Play-Well Engineering Classes

Build It!

For Preschoolers. During each class we will choose a different theme to explore and create. Themes include Airport, Carnival, Castle, City, Desert, Forest, Grassland, Harbor, Home, Jungle, Old West, School, Space Port, Town, Train Station, and Zoo. We will also design theme elements such as building: airplanes, animals, boats, carriages, cars, bridges, and more. Students will begin exploring their creative side as well as gain confidence in LEGO and general building practices.

Pre-Engineering

Let your imagination run wild with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO®! Build engineer-designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes and motorized cars, and use special pieces to create your own unique design! Explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. This is an ideal way to prepare young builders for the challenge of Engineering FUNdamentals.

Engineering FUNdamentals

Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and over 100,000 pieces of LEGO®! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as arch bridges, skyscrapers, motorized cars, and the Battletrack! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level.

Engineering FUNdamentals for Homeschoolers

Design and build motorized machines, catapults, pyramids, demolition derby cards, buildings and other constructions out of LEGO® bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Children with prior experience in our classes will be given challenges and “reverse engineering” problems, while less experienced children will be provided with more direct instruction.

Flight Club

Become a future aerospace engineer! Have fun learning, building, and experimenting with paper airplanes, helicopters, parachutes, rockets, and a wide variety of aerospace designs. This class will assist you in becoming a master paper airplane mechanic and foster building skills that will last a lifetime. This class is both interactive and educational with an emphasis on building and having fun with things that fly.

Robotics and Electronics: Robot Arm

This program focuses on teaching robot and servo technology as well as practical skills with real tools. Each child builds and keeps their own working robotic arm which is able to perform a wide array of commands and tasks. Once completed, games will be played to build hand-eye coordination and team work.
