Tim Bowen founded Play-Well TEKnologies in 1997.

Before starting Play-Well, Tim had already worked with youngsters for over 25 years as an educator and coach. He was the Director of Marin's Davidson Middle School Science/Technology Laboratory before leaving to become the Director of Sun Valley Summer Center and PCS Edventures Lab. Even as Play-Well TEKnologies rapidly grows, Tim finds the time to volunteer with various community organizations, such as continuing to coach youth soccer for the past 26 years, teaching in community colleges, and tutoring for SAT preparation and high school mathematics. Tim Bowen holds a B.A. in geology from Amherst College and M.S. in engineering geology from University of Michigan.
